Elections Calendar - 2020

Below are some of the most Important 2020 Elections Dates.  If you require further information, please refer to the Massachusetts State Election Calendar located at www.sec.state.ma.us.

Last day to register to vote or change party enrollment for the Presidential Primary:  February 12th.  The Town Clerk's Office will be open from 8 a.m to 8 p.m.

Early voting for the Presidential Primary:  The week of February 24th during normal business hours (Monday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday - Thursday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Town Clerk's Office, 221 Main Street, Boylston).

Warrant for the Presidential Primary:  Willl be posted no later than February 25th.

Presidential Primary:  March 3rd, 2020.  Voting hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Boylston Town Hall Gymnasium.

Obtaining papers to run in 2020 Town Election:  Papers will be available at the Town Clerk's Office from February 3rd - March 19th, 2020.

Submission deadline to run in 2020 Town Election:  In order to run for office, papers must be submitted to the Town Clerk's Office no later than March 23rd, 2020.

Last day to register to vote at Town Meeting:  April 14th, 2020.

Last day to register to vote at Town Election:  April 21st, 2020.

Last day to submit nomination papers for certification of signatures for all offices except for state-wide and congress:  April 28th, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open extra hours ONLY FOR THIS PURPOSE from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Pre-Election Campaign Finance Report Deadline:  April 30th, 2020.

Town Meeting:  May 4th, 2020.  7 p.m. at Tahanto High School Auditorium, 1001 Main Street, Boylston.

Deadline for party candidates for state-wide and congress to submit nomination papers for certification of signatures:  May 5th, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open extra hours ONLY FOR THIS PURPOSE from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Town Election:  May 11th, 2020.  Voting will take place at the Town Hall Gymnasium from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., 221 Main Street, Boylston.

Deadline for candidates to apply for review of non-certified signatures on nomination papers for all offices except state-wide and congress:  May 19th, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open extra hours ONLY FOR THIS PURPOSE from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Deadline for candidates to apply for review of non-certified signatures on nomination papers for state-wide and congress:  May 28th, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open extra hours ONLY FOR THIS PURPOSE from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Post-Election Campaign Finance Report Deadline:  June 10th, 2020.

Deadline to submit additional initiative petitions for certification of signatures:  June 17th, 2020.

Deadline for public policy petitions to be submitted for certification of signatures:  July 8th, 2020.

Deadline for Regional School Committee candidates to submit nomination papers for certification of signatures:  July 21st, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open extra hours ONLY FOR THIS PURPOSE from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Deadline for minor party and unenrolled candidates for state-wide and congress to submit nomination papers for certification of signatures:  July 28th, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open extra hours ONLY FOR THIS PURPOSE from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Deadline for Regional School Committee candidates to apply for review of non-certified signatures:  August 13th, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open extra hours ONLY FOR THIS PURPOSE from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Deadline for minor party and unenrolled candidates for state-wide and congress to apply for review of non-certified signatures:  August 20th, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open extra hours ONLY FOR THIS PURPOSE from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Deadline to sumit alcohol petitions for certification of signatures:  August 21st, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open extra hours ONLY FOR THIS PURPOSE from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Last day to register to vote and change party enrollment for the State Primary:  August 26th, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Massachusetts State Primary:  September 1st, 2020.

Deadline to file for a local recount:  September 28th, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open extra hours ONLY FOR THIS PURPOSE from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Last day to register to vote and change party enrollment for state election:  October 14th, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Early voting for state election:  October 19th - October 29th, 2020, during normal business hours (Monday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday - Thursday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

State Election Warrant:  Will be posted by October 27th, 2020.

State Election:  November 3rd, 2020.  Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Boylston Town Hall Gymnasium, 221 Main Street, Boylston.

Overseas ballots receipt deadline and last day to submit recount petitions for certification of signatures:  November 13th, 2020.  All overseas ballots postmarked by election day must be received at Town Clerk's Office.  Town Clerk's Office will be open extra hours from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. ONLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACCEPTING RECOUNT PETITIONS FOR CERTIFICATION OF SIGNATURES. 

Submission deadline of initiative petitions for certification of signatures:  November 18th, 2020.  Town Clerk's Office will be open extra hours from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. SOLELY FOR THIS PURPOSE.
