Criminal Investigations Division (CID)

BPD

The Boylston Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) comprises of one Detective Sergeant and one Detective. The Detective Sergeant and Detective are responsible for investigating the most severe crimes that are reported to the Boylston Police. Crimes against persons and property are the most common crimes that our Detectives investigate. The detectives follow up on most crimes where the suspect is not immediately known or arrested. These detectives specialize in interviewing victims/witnesses, controlling crime scenes, recovering evidence, apprehending suspects, and preparing major cases for prosecution. This unit also functions proactively to deter criminal activity by utilizing data from area task forces. In addition to investigating traditional crimes, CID detectives are assigned to bank robberies, juvenile crimes, computer crimes, and fugitive arrest warrant apprehension. CID detectives work closely with other local police and State Police departments and Federal Agencies including the FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration. Both detectives are assigned to the North Worcester Country Drug Task Force.

CID receives assistance from our patrol officers during their investigations, whether it comes from taking the initial report, or extending the offer to help. CID as a whole, is a function of all parts of the Boylston Police Department.

Boylston CID relies heavily on information from the community when conducting an investigation. If you would like to report any crimes or suspicious activity, please use the Anonymous Tip/Suspicious Tips submission form.

Please email Detective Sergeant Cody Thomasian with any questions about CID, an ongoing investigation, or a potential crime.
