Business Certificates/ DBAs

Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 110 Section 5, states that anyone doing business under a name other than their own is required to file a DBA.  DBA Certificates  are required of all businesses other than individuals and corporations doing business in their own or corporate name.  A DBA does NOT give anyone a license to operate a business - it just registers the business with the Town. 

The fee for a business certificate is $40.00.  The certificate is valid for 4 years.

You may fill out this application form and have it notarized at the Town Clerk's Office or elsewhere.
